The result of this neglect of theology’s proper object is a loss of coherence and unity amongst the various theological disciplines, which crucially threatens the relevance of the theological endeavour. The paper presents and develops Mascall’s critique in engagement with other theologians (inter alia Joseph Ratzinger and Stanley Hauerwas) and attempts to sketch a way forward. | ||
