| Zusammenfassung: | Between 1947 and 1948 there were numerous cases of apparitions in Italy. Until now, historiography has held that these events are a consequence of ecclesiastical propaganda in favor of the electoral success of the Christian Democracy Party, in a climate marked by the fear of communism. The present essay examines the case of the apparition that took place in Rome on 12 April 1947 in the area called "Tre Fontane" and analyzes the process of creation of the shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary through documents such as police records and the press of the era. The aim is to identify some items for a comparative research among the apparitions of 1947-1948, to promote an investigation on the characters of Italian post-war religiosity. |
